In Chinese, Song Cha (宋茶) means “Song’s tea”. It was indeed during the northern Song dynasty that the idea of a tea alcohol was born.
SU DONG PO, A JACK OF ALL TRADES
Emperor Zhezong’s preceptor, Su Dong Po was also a poet, a governor, a calligrapher, a philosopher, a painter, a judge and… a tea distiller.
“Blend spring tea and autumn tea, blend spring water and stream water, use pine wood charcoal and stoneware potteries. Tea alcohol has the virtues of warming up and reinvigorating the body, while comforting one’s mind by restoring balance between blood and energy.”
KEEPING THINGS IN PROPORTION…
Yves Nicolas-Leseux, the creator and director of SONGCHA DIFFUSION, became a producer-negotiator of tea alcohol after having been a university lecturer at the Grenoble Alpes University.
